Required Skilled Workers & Chefs in New Zealand!

Posted on by

After the Earth Quake hit in Christchurch, New Zealand, many of the restaurants have started to reopen again and they are desperately looking for high level staff for hospitality services. However, most of the chefs were forced to leave New Zealand after the earthquake for overseas job search because many of the restaurants and business suffered huge damages from the earthquake. Christchurch took many months to recover from the earthquake.  And now there are more than 2,400 hospitality businesses in New Zealand which are pushing the government to add chefs to the Canterbury Skills Shortage List.

In order to provide help for the Christchurch reconstruction effort, New Zealand Immigration has developed Canterbury Skills Shortage List. With this list the qualified workers especially from the construction field can apply for New Zealand Immigration.

According to a Spokeswoman of New Zealand Immigration, the skills shortage list is limited to roles directly which are related to the rebuild.  Requirement of Chefs for Canterbury is listed on the national long term list.

At present Canterbury have 70 hospitality businesses which are due to re-open. If you are interested in New Zealand Immigration and want to apply for the openings in Hospitality business then hurry up! Contact Opulentus for New Zealand Immigration services and visa assistance.
